clvr is Balance.
At Clever Jiu Jitsu, our mission is to help our students find balance. Whether they need to find that balance in family, work, or jiu jitsu training, we want to assist them in discovering how to achieve greater harmony in whatever they value the most in life. We are dedicated to delivering a professional and dynamic training experience for the Southern Oregon community. Our unwavering commitment to safety and respect ensures that all students can train within a supportive environment, allowing them to truly thrive.
Our logo tells a profound story through its unique shapes.
The Triangle.
The upside-down triangle at the top symbolizes who we are as a community, representing strength, stability, and the foundation of our practice in jiu jitsu. This triangular shape is a reminder of the supportive structure we must provide, encouraging growth and resilience.
The Circle.
At the bottom, the circle embodies our goals, passions, and the core values we hold dear. It signifies unity and the continuous pursuit of excellence, drawing us together as we strive for personal and collective achievements in our martial arts journey.
The Rectangle.
The rectangle in the middle represents the journey we embark on to achieve balance and harmony in our lives. It illustrates the ongoing process of integrating our training, personal aspirations, and relationships, reminding us that each step we take is essential in creating a fulfilling and well-rounded existence.
Together, these elements in our logo reflect the essence of Clever Jiu Jitsu Academy—our identity, our passions, and our commitment to a balanced and respectful environment that fosters growth for both youth and adults.
CHAD WALKER
Chad Walker, the founder and part owner of Clever Jiu Jitsu Academy, brings over a decade of jiu-jitsu experience to our community. Alongside his wife, Sara, Chad has cultivated a welcoming and professional training environment, ensuring that students of all ages can thrive.
Having trained extensively in the southern Oregon area and a short time in Southern California, Chad eventually earned his jiu-jitsu black belt from the legendary Chris Haueter—one of the first twelve non-Brazilian individuals to receive a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu. This background shapes Chad's coaching philosophy, which emphasizes achieving a balance between the sport, self defense and art aspects of jiu-jitsu. He believes in the importance of a strong foundational technique before relying on physical attributes.
Originally from Southern California, Chad maintains a laid-back, approachable demeanor while passionately dedicating himself to teaching jiu-jitsu. He is committed to meeting people where they are, helping them harness the power of jiu-jitsu not just as a martial art but as a lifelong skill that enriches their bodies, minds, and the wellbeing of their families.
